Once you get all your supplies you can get started on the crafting. I made sure I looked over the directions a few times before I got started and it was really as easy as it sounds.
You'll just use the pencil sharpener to get crayon shavings to put on the wax paper. I would recommend just shaving the crayon over the wax paper and then break down the shavings so they are smaller. Spread the shavings over 1/2 of the wax paper.
Then fold the wax paper over and fold in the other three sides to prevent any wax leaking. Make sure you have some towels on the bottom and put another one on top before ironing. The crayon color will leak through so make sure you just use some rags you don't care about, especially since the crayon on mine didn't actually wash out (don't worry...I used some old rags).
Iron the wax paper and crayon shavings until all the shavings have melted. Use a medium high-high heat and make sure you use the dry setting. Any steam will make the wax paper wet and bubble.
Once all the crayon shavings are melted, let it cool and then you can cut out shapes. You could really do this for any holiday but since it's almost Valentine's Day, I did hearts.
Our front door is a huge window, so I decided to hang mine up in the window. I just used some thread and strung the hearts with the thread using an needle. With a little bit of tape they were ready to hang. Here's the end result---
I like it! It's Valentine's Day-y without being too cheesy or over-the-top. Just simple and colorful and they look great in the sun (when it actually shines).
